Requirements for Accreditation
The following Requirements of Eligibility must be met by schools applying for Candidacy for Accreditation and maintained for all accreditation categories of NAPCIS.
- The school attests in writing to: (a) its commitment and intent to comply with the Standards and Criteria of NAPCIS; (b) its understanding of and agreement to the fact that NAPCIS, at its discretion, may make known to any agency or member of the public that may request such information the nature of any action, positive or negative, regarding its status with NAPCIS; and (c) its agreement to disclose to NAPCIS, at anytime, all such information as NAPCIS may require to carry out its evaluating and accrediting functions.
- For Candidacy for Accreditation, the school has completed its first full year of operation as an educational entity.
- The school has achieved and maintained Active or Provisional Membership Status in NAPCIS for one year.
- The school has provided the following current materials, along with the other application documents:
- endorsed Articles of Incorporation
- By-Laws of Corporation
- evidence of tax-exempt status with State and IRS
- statement of philosophy
- copy of schools governing bodys constitution, membership and structure, if different from, or is in addition to, the by-laws
- copy of brochure and advertising materials
- statement of admission policy and application materials
- Board of Trustees, administration, and teacher roster (include religious affiliation, degrees earned and date of hire)
- current year's budget
- one copy of school's handbook for parents, student and faculty (one copy of each, if separate handbooks)
- school's statement of curriculum
- current school-year calendar
- statement of the school's policies on record keeping: student, personnel and alumni
- if applicable, a statement of high school requirements for graduation, a copy of the transcript form.
